Liseberg Amusement Park (Gothenburg) This amusement park is one of the most popular attractions in Sweden, and has also been named the world's best amusement park. The main amusement is the switchback to the space-like, futuristic tower 83 metres above the ground.
Museum of Art (Konstmuseet) (Gothenburg) Göteborg's Museum of Art is situated on the Göta square. You can see Nordic and European master pieces here. The museum is most famous for the collections of Rubens, Van Gogh, Rembrandt and Picasso, though.
The city museum (Stadsmuseum) (Gothenburg) This museum has exhibitions of archaeological, regional and historical collections. Among these is the only Viking ship in Sweden, Äskekärr Skibet.
Bohuslän (Götaland) The coastline by Bohuslän is one of the most beautiful landscapes you can see in Sweden. You can visit small, picturesque fishing villages along the impressive coastline full of cliffs. Especially Smögen and Åstol are worth visiting.
Läckö Slott (Götaland) The castle is situated by the largest lake in Sweden, Vänern, and it is a real fairy tale castle. It contains extraordinary examples of 18th century baroque architecture with towers, domes and ornamented frescoes. From May to August you can get a 45 minutes guided tour round the 240 rooms of the castle.
Vadstena (Götaland) The middle age streets of Vadstena are something quite special. You can also visit the famous Vadstena Castle, which is situated by the large, beautiful Vättern Lake.
Lund (Lund) Lund is the oldest city in Sweden and only 20 minutes drive from Malmö. It is absolutely worth a visit. It is an old University City, but has important, historical roots back to when the Danish episcopal residence was here. The city is still built up around the impressive cathedral from the 13th century in the middle of the city.
Malmö house (Malmöhus) (Malmö) Erik of Pomerania built this fortress in 1434 to control all traffic into the Sound. Since then, different Danish and Swedish kings have altered the fortress many times. The fortress is an impressive building.
The museums of Malmö (Malmö) Malmö has quite a few museums, the city museum (Stadsmuseet) and the Museum of Art (Konstmuseet) being two of them. The more modern Rooseum also contains modern art.
Anders Zorn Museum (Mora) The Zorn museum is, just as Zorn's home farm, something quite special. You can get a good impression of this interesting and very colourful person that Anders Zorn was. This quality is also present in his paintings and his home.
Rödding Fishing (Mora) Rödding is the best tasting freshwater fish in the world and is found in the Siljan Lake. You can see a fishing area and a museum on a small island by this beautiful lake.
The Vasa Race (Vasalopp ) Museum (Mora) The Vasa Race museum is just as good fun as the goal where the tired skiers enter. It is situated in the town centre. Next to it is the Mora Church, a good example of Swedish woodcraft from the 13th century.
Hill walking (Norrland) Hiking in all the forest, plains, mountains and old villages is definitely among some of the most attractive sights in this northern part of Sweden. The deserted ore factories in Gästriktland are other attractions.
Höga Kusten (Norrland) One of the most attractive parts of Sweden's coastline is Höga Kusten, which means "high coast line". You can enjoy the magnificent view and see the beautiful scenery in this area around Ångermanland.
Jämtland (Norrland) This area is famous for its magnificent nature. Possibilities of sports activities are plenty during both summer and winter. Some of the offers include hiking, rafting on the rivers or dog sledge racing.
Gamle Stan (Stockholm) This is the oldest part of the city. You will suddenly step back 300 years in time. The oldest buildings are from the 14th century, though. You will see streets, houses and shops, you have only read about in history books. You should also visit "Djurgården", which is a large island east of Stockholm containing several museums.
Museums (Stockholm) There are plenty of sights and attractions in Stockholm, such as the National Museum, the August Strindberg Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Royal Palace and much more. Stockholm has a tradition of good museums.
The Vasa Museum (Stockholm) The large royal yacht Vasa sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 in the middle of the archipelago. It is an extremely well preserved and impressive sight situated in a very architectonic museum. The museum is also situated on Djurgården.
Gustav Adolfs Church (Sundsvall) This church is also worth a visit. In summers, it has concerts each Wednesday at seven o'clock.
The Culture House Kultur Magasinet" (Sundsvall) The culture house is called Kultur Magasinet, and in 1987 it got a price for the brilliant restoration of the old factory hall. The building houses a library and the Sundsvall Museum.
Troll Museum (Sundsvall) The troll museum is an unusual museum. It exhibits humorous paintings of local trolls of the area - in Sweden, they believe that trolls haunt the woods.
Falu Koppargruva (Svealand) In the copper mines in Falun, Falu Koppargruva, you can literally explore the inner of the earth. This is an impressive sight, and the mines were also the most important copper mines in the world in the 18th century. The first historical drawings were made in 1288, where the bishop of Västerås bought shares in the mining company.
Festival in Rättvik and Leksand (Svealand) Other important events are the mid summer festivals in Rättvik or Leksand in Dalarna. There are also good ski resorts in the mountains, which borders on Norway.
Uppsala (Svealand) This old University City has great historical character, and many sights and attractions. In the old city centre (4 km from the present centre) there are three large Viking burial mounds. It is said that the Vikings Aun, Egil and Adil are buried here. In the city itself, they have a large and famous cathedral, which dates back to the 16th century. The place has been used for churches since 1164, though.
Kiruna Kyrka (Sweden) The church is another great attraction in Kiruna. The church looks like a large samer frock. The church is especially beautiful when it snows or against a white background of snow.
