Spending your holiday by the long coastal line of the Atlantic Ocean in Senegal is somewhat different from an ordinary seaside holiday. Although the coast has the largest number of hotels and the largest concentration of tourists in all of Senegal, it is still the warm Africa. The water enthusiasts can enjoy all kinds of water sports, water skiing or participating in kayaking contests. Senegal provides some of the best diving conditions in all of West Africa and ample opportunities of seeing tropical fishes.

Best time to visit

If you want to avoid the rainy season, you should visit the coastal area between December and May, where you might also catch a cool sea breeze. The sea is most pleasant and clear from February to March, but as most hotels have swimming pools, you needn't rely on the ocean, in order to get wet.
