Los Amigos
We stayed here for 2 nights as a base to see the temples at Tikal. The hostel itself
was busy and had a good atmosphere, there was a vegetarian restaurant which did surprisingly good food.
Arrived fairly late on the 16th, and booked a bus to the temples for 6.00? the following morning! Thanks to some good advice from Kevin and Claire we did the main temples straight away before they got busy and the further away ones later. After long morning of walking we headed back to Flores for a late lunch.
The town of Flores was an island in the river next to the much larger Santa Elena. Flores was an attractive town with old buildings and cobbled streets, Santa Elana was not.
