Neede a haircut for last few days, when I walked past one few nights ago at midnight he was still busy at work.
On the way back from Karnack today I was heading for a rest at the hote but walked into the barbershop on the way. waited about 1 hour, could have had my rest. I am tired and cant be bothered to move and the seats are fairly comfy.
i am eyeing the barber chairs, big, old leather chairs, the most comfortable things I would have sat on in some days.
The barber blinks with every stroke of the clipper while giving a guy short-back-and side, very neat work followed by scissor clipping. I am glad he doesnt blink with every snip of the scissors, could be dangerous. The floor would have had a marble look, now there is a shape of 3 formed of faded floor where colour would have been, the two chairs fitting into the two semi circles of the 3. I look at the mirror, looking back at me is a tired face, my colour is only slightly lighter than the man sitting next to me. I tingle as the barber cleans the customers neck with the cut-throat. He then trims his mustache and eyebrows with scissors too.
He brushes the hair every few strokes of clipper, I think if you ran out at anytime you would not look terrible because the hair is done in sections. I look a right "Egypt" a ittle while later having been given the standard Egyptian cut, I could be a double for certain dignatories I can think of.
As I walked past the police this morning with their usual AK47, I wandered if I speak to them long enough they would let me try one, same as the guys who have offered me their moterbikes. I am not sure if they would appreciate my sense of humour!
In the evening I had a photo (not a good one) taken with my shishe and Egyptian haircut.
I must find a way of getting some rest before getting to Uganda. One option is to stay here another day and fly into Cairo and fly straight out a few hours later instead of going into Cairo tommorrow spending a night in the hotel, trying to find and buy the things I need for the tour. This would mean I would miss out the Cairo museum which is apparently very good.
