Booked myself onto a CBT (compulsory Basic Training for Motor Cycles), one day course. Did this course some years ago, it was all very well being taught things in a quiet car park, very different when we got on the road without the metal shield around us and cars doing their damndest to pass as closely as possible, scared the hell out of me and didn't go near a bike for some years.
I thought it was time to give it one more try. Morning session was not too good, nervous as anything, little coordination. Had the lunch time to relax (hadn't slept too well the night before) while Roy, the trainer went out with the other trainee.
Very different session in the afternoon, one-to-one. But missed a wretched Lifesaver (look over shoulder before turning off at a junction) at the last turning, not coping too well with Roy going off on one in my earpiece and almost ended up mounting the pavement too! He took me back out on the road again so I could get it right, it is quite dark now (%$£"") bad enough in the daylight. Did Ok (had to, want to get back indoors out of the cold). shaking from the cold and adrenaline. Another thing I wasn't doing too well on was cancelling the signal after turing off, dangerous as vehicles were pulling out in front of me, thinking I was about to turn off the road, or vehicles trying to overtake from the rear. Used to self-cancelling signals in cars.
