Jama Masjid Mosque (Delhi)
This large mosque is India's largest, but also the last of the impressive pieces of architecture done by Shan Jahan. The mosque was built between 1644 and 1658; it has three entrances and four towers. It is made out of red sandstone and white marble.
Red Fort (Delhi)
This fort is built on red sandstone and its walls go on for more than two kilometers and are up to 33 meters tall. Shan Jahan built the fort between 1638 and 1648. The fort has some impressive architecture and when you enter the fort's gardens and pavilions you are light years away from the noise and bustle on the other side of the walls.
The National Museum (Delhi)
The National Museum has an impressive collection of bronze; terracotta- and wood sculptures that date all the way back to the second and third century before Christ. There are guided tours of the museum that can offer you an interesting insight into much of the country's history.
